Response 2 for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Hate is a strong word. It means that I don't love you and that I don't care about you. When you here the word hate do you cringe at the word or do you smile and laugh? That probably depends on how you say it. If someone says it in a mad, angry voice that would most likely make you cringe, but if someone says it in a happy, joking voice then that preson is probably joking, right? Sometimes people misunderstand and when your just joking they might think it's really true. Saying "I hate" is something we should avoid; it is a word that could make our whole life something to regret.

The section about Joanna and her baby in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a good example of hate. All the women around her think that she doesn't deserve a baby because she isn't married. Joanna tries to ignore them but they don't ignore her. Not one of the women stands up for her when they throw stones at her and since no one does they end up hurting Joanna's baby. Hate will always lead to something like that. It will always lead to something to regret.

Hate is something that is inside all of us. You have to learn how to control hate; some people can control it better than others. If you know how to keep your hate level down then life will be filled with joy, family, and friends. People who can't control their hate need to learn or otherwise their life will be spent alone and full of regret. Don't hold grudges on little things; forgive friends and forget fights.

Response to A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Love is stronger than anything. It is stronger than hate, jealousy, and anger. Love brings your family together. No one ever stays mad at someone forever because love helps them forgive. Love is a feeling we should not cower from but instead be willing to keep it within us for all eternity.
When someone hurts you on the inside do you give up the love for that person? Even if they did hurt you would you want something to happen to them? That where love has its power. Love is like a piece of string tying us all together. It has saved many people from depression because if you love someone you want them to be happy and if your depressed then your depression will rub off on the people around you. Love helps keep your loved ones in your heart. Love helps you remember them forever and always.
When someone loves you they show respect and kindness for your feelings. Being loved is a great thing. Then you know that people are always there for you and won't back away from you. Imagine what the world would look like if that happened with everyone. There could possibly be no wars, we could be able to live in a peaceful world. Everyone could learn to work together and share ideas and technology. If we all learned to love each other,or at least like each other, then we could accoplish more than what we have already. Love is friends, family, peace, and life.

Essay to "All Summer in a Day."

Living in your own small world, a place where no one can see you. A place where no one can touch to you or even speak to you. You don’t try to free yourself of this lonely world, you just stand by and let this world take over. Soon friends drift away even your family doesn’t exist around you, all knowing that something is happening to you. You can see all of this happening but you don’t stop it. When we isolate ourselves, friendship, love, and family can’t exist within us or with the people around us.
Isolation is a feared thing and by isolating ourselves we become weaker on the inside and out. When you isolate yourselves you lose your courage to stand up for yourself and you lose the courage to talk to people. Opportunities like going to Six Flags, having a birthday party, or even just hanging out with friends will be lost, friends don’t exist when you isolate yourself. Your eyes could become dry with no spark of life or happiness in them. They will show you a dystopic vision of the world. The skin on your body might turn pale ,since you probably not go outside and play, from lack of sunshine. Your bones and muscles would then become weak from lack of exercise.
All these physical and emotional changes happens, or might happen, when you make yourself isolated. Don’t let this happen to you or anyone else, talk to people, play with friends, join clubs or activities. When you see someone standing alone or sitting by themselves go up and talk to them, invite them to sit or play with you. Don’t stand around watching people become isolated ,help them instead. These things can all change the horrors of isolation.

Vetran's Essay

The right time to honor our veterans is… anytime! If you think that we only honor our veterans on holidays like Memorial Day and Veterans day then your right and wrong. That’s right because we do honor our veterans probably more on that day than any other day but, even if you don’t know it, we honor our veterans everyday. That is where your wrong. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who only honors veterans on Veteran’s Day. When it’s not Veteran’s Day you might not know what you do to honor veterans on the other days. Everyone like their freedom, right? Well your honoring the veterans because you care about freedom. At least I hope you do. It is true that we honor veterans more on Veterans Day since we make cards, have a school assembly, and other things. On Veterans Day more people come together to honor the veterans the know or love. That’s because they don’t know that they’re honoring veterans all the time. If people realized that they honor veterans all day, everyday then maybe just maybe people would always be close.
Veterans are people who have been in a war before so they know what’s going on in the wars better than we probably would. They tell us stories that are happy or sad. When a veteran tells us a happy story it could me you feel proud of what they did to help or whatever else they did. Stories that are sad make us feel sad. Those stories usually have someone die in
them.
So even if you don’t think you honor veterans all day, everyday, you do in one way or another. Even if you don’t think about it your still honoring them. Think hard about the things you do, do any of them honor veterans?
