Response 2 for A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Hate is a strong word. It means that I don't love you and that I don't care about you. When you here the word hate do you cringe at the word or do you smile and laugh? That probably depends on how you say it. If someone says it in a mad, angry voice that would most likely make you cringe, but if someone says it in a happy, joking voice then that preson is probably joking, right? Sometimes people misunderstand and when your just joking they might think it's really true. Saying "I hate" is something we should avoid; it is a word that could make our whole life something to regret.

The section about Joanna and her baby in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a good example of hate. All the women around her think that she doesn't deserve a baby because she isn't married. Joanna tries to ignore them but they don't ignore her. Not one of the women stands up for her when they throw stones at her and since no one does they end up hurting Joanna's baby. Hate will always lead to something like that. It will always lead to something to regret.

Hate is something that is inside all of us. You have to learn how to control hate; some people can control it better than others. If you know how to keep your hate level down then life will be filled with joy, family, and friends. People who can't control their hate need to learn or otherwise their life will be spent alone and full of regret. Don't hold grudges on little things; forgive friends and forget fights.
